On a stormy Friday in January, a beast arrived in our sleepy town, and all could hear its cry. No car hauler could hold this monster back for long; as the sleek 2018 Dodge Demon rolled out of its cage, a crowd gathered to witness the raw glory of unadulterated muscle. As Dodge says, “If you know, you know.”
The functional Air-Grabber hood scoop hints to the power beneath the hood, a Supercharged 6.2L HEMI SRT Demon V8 engine. Effortlessly cranking out 840-HP, the Demon is currently the fastest production car ever made.
This machine is a limited production vehicle, Dodge has pledged to make 3,300; 3,000 in American and 300 in Canada. Our very own Alan Taylor was awarded serial number eight, making his Demon an instant collector’s item.
The SRT badge that adorns this muscle car stands for Street and Racing Technology. Achieving a 0-60 MPH time of 2.3 seconds, this car was built for the track with the comfort of a daily driver. (Oh, and did we mention that its the first production car to be able to pop a wheelie?!) Specialty drag slicks were designed specifically for the Demon to help this rocket ship achieve a 9.65 second quarter mile. There is so much power in the Demon that the NHRA has banned it from their drag courses.
Our local dealership in Southern Oregon proudly displayed this prized arrival inside their showroom until Alan could pick it up – What a spectacle! It wouldn’t be long before Alan happily fled his office to pick-up his new baby.
The mirror-like black paint was immaculate – Alan couldn’t resist the opportunity to pose for a selfie with the red Demon emblem which practically begs you to get out and burn some rubber!
When it came time to leave, Alan couldn’t hold back any longer! He gave those drag radials their first real burn and shrouded the crowd in smoke. This sinister ride was built to turn heads, and comes in at an MSRP of $84,995. Alan can’t wait to break it in!
