Highlights of 2017 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas

Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort Casino in Las Vegas reprises its role as home to Barrett-Jackson, which took place October 19-21, 2017. This premier collector car auction showcased rare rides from all over the world for potential buyers to feast their eyes on. Our very own Alan Taylor was LIVE on the Shell Pioneering Performance stage in real time. After the cars left the auction block, they rolled over to the Shell stage and the hosts discussed all the unique details of each vehicle. Alan co-hosted with some of the key players of the automotive industry such as Karl Brauer, Gary Patterson, Dennis Collins, Kelsey Collins, Mike Spagnola, and more. There were many amazing cars at this show! Here’s a look at a few that caught Alan’s attention:

Barrett-Jackson’s long-standing contribution of auctioning off charity cars always delivers a great turn-out. After the recent tragedy in Las Vegas, Barrett-Jackson’s Owner, Craig Jackson, and President, Steve Davis, knew they had to do something for those affected by this horrendous event.  Steve, and his wife, Janie Davis, chose to auction off Steve’s 2007 GT 500 Shelby Super Snake. The car sold for $1-million and all proceeds went directly to the Injured Police Officers Fund of Las Vegas. This amazing car was just one of many cars with the hammer price directly benefiting many different charities. There was a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Red Rock Edition, 2017 Chevrolet Crew Cab Custom Pickup, 1991 Acura NSX Custom Coupe, 1930 Ford Model A Custom Coupe, 1972 Ford Maverick Custom Coupe, and 1965 Shelby Cobra Re-Creation Roadster. The charities for these cars included the NASCAR Foundation, YMCA of Southern Nevada, American Red Cross, TGen Foundation, SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, and Convoy of Hope.

Throughout the event, auctioneers ramble off the quick successions of the bidding prices. Buyers strolled around admiring their favorite cars and exotic builds, or stepped outside and took a tire screeching ride in the newest vehicles from the top OEMs. No need to fret if you cant make it to the event in the future, Barrett-Jackson has two live broadcasts including from the auction block and the Shell Pioneering Performance Stage. There was also a huge Exhibitor Marketplace for industry-specific sales, where bidders with extremely high lines of auction credit could peruse for a specialized service or product.

Next time this event comes around, be sure to check it out. You can gaze at your dream car, blow your mind with rare rides, and experience one of “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions” Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas.
